Sanno Shrine - Nagasaki, Nagasaki Prefecture

About 5 minutes walk from Daigaku Byoin-mae Station Nagasaki Electric Railway.

"Camphor trees that were exposed to atomic bomb" and "one-legged torii" are famous. Near Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, Peace Park, and Urakami Cathedral.

This Shrine is also referred to as "Urakami Kotai Shrine", "Sanno Hiyoshi Shrine".
The position of approximately 800m southeast from the hypocenter.









Giant camphor trees that were exposed to the atomic bomb
There are located at the entrance of the precinct. Year-old is said to have been from 500 to 600.
Became burned the wood surface by atomic bomb, and then germinate in a few years. Gradually regained the green.
In the photo is difficult to understand, camphor trees which are in a quiet residential area is fantastic.







Shrine is quiet.










The second torii gate at Sanno Shrine (One-legged torii gate)
This torii was built in 1924. Half was destroyed by the atomic bomb in 1945. The first torii gate also had left after the Second World War, but was destroyed by a car.
